Your eye-opening morning begins with an 8:30 a.m. hotel pickup, followed by a short drive southeast, completely away from the typical tourist circuits. As you enjoy a leisurely walk toward the base of the surrounding hills, your professional guide will explain the area’s urban development, political landscape, and the realities of modern urbanization projects. Next, you will dive into the vibrant atmosphere of Vinocanchon, one of Cusco’s largest supplier markets. Here, you will discover unique regional farm products like tarwi while observing the bustling daily routines of local workers. The highlight of the experience is an open, guided cultural exchange with neighborhood residents and association members. You will listen to personal stories and discuss everyday challenges, educational opportunities, and family life in the Andes. After this deeply enriching and authentic local encounter, your private transportation will return you comfortably to your hotel around midday.
Itinerary
DAY 1: Shanty Qosqo
We want to consider this Half Day as a great experience with local people from Cusco instead of a tourist attraction or tour We will pick you up from your hotel around 08:30 am and drive for 20 minutes southeast outside of the Touristic area of Cusco then we will start walking and explore. While you slowly make your way to the base of the hill, our guide Will explain a little about the new urban sectors we are visiting and its development, the urbanization projects, politics, religion and how we can help in the area. Then we will visit one of the local biggest markets, the Cusco supplier market called Vinocanchon, where many locals go to work daily with a lot of farm products typical from the region, many of which may be unfamiliar to you, like tarwi and many others. We will open a cultural exchange conversation with members of the neighborhood and local Association (for example about daily life in Cusco, the role of women, migration from the countryside to the city, the socio-economy situation of the families, the educational opportunities they have, etc). There will also be time to hear the personal stories of the members of the community. After a great experience, we will take you back to the hotel around midday.
