Your adventure begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. with a comfortable pickup from your hotel, setting off toward the breathtaking Sacred Valley of the Incas. The journey starts with a scenic stop at the Taray Viewpoint, offering a spectacular panoramic welcome to the valley’s vast landscapes. From there, you will explore the Pisac archaeological site, famous for its sweeping semi-circular agricultural terraces and ancient cemeteries, followed by a visit to the local artisans to admire traditional Quechua craftsmanship. As the journey continues, you will arrive in the picturesque town of Urubamba to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch featuring authentic local ingredients. Energized, you will head to Ollantaytambo—often considered the most visually impressive town on the route—to explore the formidable Temple of the Sun. Afterward, a scenic train ride will transport you to the town of Aguas Calientes.
Depending on your scheduled arrival time for Machu Picchu, you will board the bus half an hour early for the short ride up the mountain to the crowning jewel of the tour. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a comprehensive 1.5-hour guided excursion through the citadel’s most magnificent viewpoints and sacred structures. Following the tour, you will return to Aguas Calientes for a relaxing lunch before catching your return train to Ollantaytambo, where transportation will be waiting to safely escort you back to your hotel in Cusco.
