A trip in Peru is not complete without a visit to Machu Picchu. The Huayna Picchu mountain, Wayna Pikchu in Quechua, (with an altitude of 2667 meters above sea level) is part of the eastern foothills of the Salcantay massif in Cusco, Peru. It is part of a large orographic formation known as the Vilcabamba Batholith, in the Central Cordillera of the Peruvian Andes and is known mainly for being the backdrop of most panoramic photographs of the Inca archaeological remains of Machu Picchu. However, it is also home to important archaeological remains related to the famous Inca complex.
Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – HUAYNA PICCHU – MACHU PICHU
The tour starts with your pickup transfer from your hotel in Cusco and we take the train to Aguas Calientes. After going into the Citadel of Machupicchu, we will to the gate of the famous Huaynapicchu Mountain to start the climbing where we will enjoy the view. Then we will have our guided tour of the most important places of the Machu Picchu Incan City. After the tour your will have free time in Machu Picchu for some more photos and then we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes where we can find a place to eat. In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and the transfer back to your hotel in Cusco.
