As night falls, the journey continues to the edge of the Manu National Park at Tres Cruces, renowned for hosting one of the most spectacular sunrises on Earth. As dawn breaks, you will witness the legendary “double sunrise”—a glowing 20-minute false sunrise over the lush jungle, followed by the sun revealing itself in a brilliant 10-minute display of yellow and orange hues. If you travel near the winter solstice, you might even experience the mystical “White Ray,” a rare optical illusion creating three suns on the horizon Framed by the snow-capped Ausangate mountain range and the majestic Apuqañaqway peak—the ‘Protector of the Antisuyo’—this visual spectacle is truly unparalleled.
