Along the way, we’ll make a few stops at scenic natural viewpoints, perfect for taking photos and enjoying the beautiful Andean landscape. We’ll also make a brief stop at the Chinchero handicraft market, where you can get a glimpse of local traditions and textiles. This visit will be short due to the high altitude of the area.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Urubamba, and afterwards we’ll continue to your hotel for check-in and rest. Included: airport assistance.
DAY 2: WEAVING TRADITIONS IN THE SACRED VALLEY
In the morning, we will depart from the hotel to visit the Pisac archaeological site, where you’ll explore its impressive agricultural terraces and mysterious ceremonial areas that reflect the ingenuity of Inca engineering.
After the visit, we’ll head to the Pisac handicraft market, one of the most traditional markets in the Sacred Valley, where local artisans continue to preserve their ancestral customs and techniques.
We will then continue to the nearby town of Calca, where we’ll spend a pleasant time. Finally, we’ll return to Urubamba for lunch at a local restaurant, and afterwards, we’ll head back to the hotel for rest and relaxation.
DAY 3: OCUTUAN TOWN
Today, we will pick you up from your hotel and head to the Kintu community of Coca Ocutuan, located in the Chinchero Mountains. This traditional Quechua village, home to around 30 men and women, sits at an altitude of 3,780 meters (12,400 feet) near the beautiful Lake Piuray, in the heart of the Peruvian Andes.
Upon arrival, you’ll be warmly greeted with traditional Andean dances. Then, you’ll take part in a hands-on workshop focused on native Andean tubers—particularly the Andean potato, a staple crop with deep cultural importance.
Afterward, enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the community, followed by a weaving demonstration, showcasing one of the Andes’ most emblematic and time-honored traditions. In the afternoon, we will return to your hotel.
DAY 4: MACHU PICCHU
Very early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the Vistadome Observatory train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Our expert guide will lead you through the most important sectors of the citadel, helping you connect with its sacred energy while sharing its rich history, advanced Inca engineering, and spiritual significance.
After the visit, you’ll return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time for lunch and to explore the town. These terraces were used by the Incas as an experimental agricultural laboratory, allowing them to simulate different microclimates and test crop adaptation.
After exploring Moray, we will continue to the town of Maras, where you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of more than 3,000 salt pools. These pools, still harvested by local families using ancestral techniques, create a striking white landscape that contrasts beautifully with the Andean surroundings.
In the afternoon, we will visit Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca fortress known for its colosal terraces, stone structures, and waterworks, as well as its charming living town, which preserves much of its original Inca layout. At the end of the day, we will return and drop you off at your hotel in Urubamba.
