Overview
Embark on a captivating full-day adventure through the Andes, starting with a convenient morning pickup from your Cusco hotel. Your journey begins in the picturesque village of Pisac, where you will explore breathtaking Inca ruins perched high above the valley and have time to browse the vibrant stalls of its famous handicraft market. As you travel deeper into the stunning Sacred Valley, you will stop in the peaceful town of Urubamba to savor a delicious lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The afternoon takes you to Ollantaytambo, widely known as a “living Inca museum,” where you can wander through ancient cobblestone streets and marvel at the massive stone terraces and temples that have stood the test of time. On the scenic return trip to Cusco, you will visit the historic town of Chinchero to explore its archaeological site and witness a fascinating demonstration of traditional Andean weaving techniques, concluding an unforgettable day of culture and history.
Itinerary
DAY 1: The Sacred valley of the incas
This day we begin our day with a pickup from your hotel between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. Below is our route and what makes each stop essential part of the journey:
Pisac: We will visit this charming village to explore it’s impressive Inca ruins perched high above the valley, followed by a stroll through it’s colorful handicraft market to appreciate local artisan work.
Urubamba: After that in this peaceful town located in the heart of the valley to enjoy a delicious lunch in a serene Andean setting.
Ollantaytambo: Next in this ancient town, often called a “living Inca museum” to marvel at it’s remarkable archeological complex featuring massive stone terraces, temples and original narrow cobblestone streets.
Chinchero: On our way back to Cusco, we will visit this archaeological site to explore it’s historic ruins and witness a fascinating demostration of ancient Andean weaving techniques.
