This full-day adventure through the Sacred Valley begins with a visit to the Pisac Archaeological Park, famous for its sprawling agricultural terraces and its vibrant artisan market, where you can find traditional Andean crafts. The journey continues to Urubamba, a scenic town perfect for a local lunch surrounded by mountain views. In the afternoon, you’ll explore the “living Inca village” of Ollantaytambo, marveling at its massive stone fortress and ancient streets that remain inhabited to this day. It is a day of profound historical discovery and natural beauty, returning you to Cusco by early evening.
Itinerary
DAY 1: Sacred valley
Our day begins with a pickup from your hotel around 8:30 a.m., heading first to the charming village and archaeological site of Pisac. Here, you’ll explore its impressive Inca ruins, which overlook the Sacred Valley, and then stroll through its colorful handicraft market.
OAfterward, we’ll continue through the beautiful Sacred Valley to the town of Urubamba, where we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch made with fresh local ingredients in a serene Andean setting.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit the ancient Inca town of Ollantaytambo, often called a “living Inca museum.” You’ll explore its remarkable archaeological complex, featuring massive terraces, temples, and narrow cobblestone streets that have remained intact since Inca times.
After exploring, we’ll begin our return journey to Cusco, enjoying scenic views along the way, and arrive at your hotel in the late afternoon.
