Overview
Our exploration begins with a journey through Cusco’s most iconic landmarks, starting at Coricancha, the golden Temple of the Sun. We then ascend to the monumental stone fortress of Sacsayhuamán and the mystical mummification site of Qenqo, nestled within fragrant eucalyptus forests. The adventure continues at the “Red Fortress” of Puka Pukara before reaching Tambomachay, where sacred fountains showcase advanced Inca hydraulic engineering. This circuit offers a profound immersion into the spiritual and architectural mastery of the Incas, concluding with a comfortable return to your hotel to rest and reflect.
Itinerary
DAY 1: The heart of the Inca Empire
This day we begin our excursion with pickup from your hotel. Our tour begins with pickup from your hotel. Our first stop will be
Coricancha: known as the Temple of the Sun, it was the most important Inca religious structure.
Sacsayhuamán: known for its gigantic stone blocks, some weighing over 100 tons.
Qenqo: the site of mummification and the Qenqo eucalyptus forests, where we can appreciate and be carried away by the aroma and natural mysticism of the trees.
Puka Pukara: known as the Red Fortress, due to the pigmentation of the rocks.
Tambomachay: the Temple of Water, its main attraction is the water fountains distributed in two waterfalls, which come from underground seepage. Finally, we will return to Cusco to our hotel to rest.
