Enjoy this adventure through the beautiful landscapes of the Sacred Valley, getting to know its main attractives and traversing the cloud forest on the train to reach Machu Picchu. The Huayna Picchu mountain, Wayna Picchu in Quechua, (with an altitude of 2667 meters above sea level) is part of the eastern foothills of the Salcantay massif in Cusco, Peru. It is part of a large orographic formation known as the Vilcabamba Batholith in the Central Mountain Range of the Peruvian Andes and is known primarily for being the backdrop for most panoramic photographs of the Inca archaeological remains of Machu Picchu related to the famous Inca complex. What to bring and advices
- You can acclimate for the altitude in one or two days this will depend on how your body react; you can take some personal medication.
- If you pay the remaining balance, it is advisable to bring cash. You can get some money from the ATM machine that are located in the center of the City of Cusco.
- You need to bring your original passport; this is very important to enter to Machupicchu, train station.
- Rain poncho, rain jacket, proper hiking boots.
- Insect repellent.
- Travel insurance this from your site, always recommended.
Itinerary
We will pick you up from your Cusco Hotel around 07:30 am, then we will start our adventure. Our first stop after driving some minutes is: The Sacred Valley Lookout Point, for amazing views and photos. Following, we will visit the famous Pisaq Market, where People come down from the Andean villages to sell their textiles and vegetables. We will continue the journey up to the Pisaq Inca Archeological site, located on top of Pisaq Mountain in the Sacred Valley. our tour guide will take you to the most impressive spots. Then, we will drive along the valley for about 01 hour, until we reach Urubamba, where we will stop for lunch (Not Included). After lunch, we will drive to Ollantaytambo, where the second heaviest Inca monoliths are to be found. The ruins have an amazing Temple of the Sun, Moon, and The Temple of the 10 Niches. This living Inca town displays narrow walkways, lined with water channels. Later in the afternoon You will head the train station and catch your train to Aguas Calientes, the journey is just under two hours, descending into the Cloud Forest, where you will see orchids, bromelias and ferns. Our representatives will meet you just outside the train station, upon arrival and lead you to your hotel.

Today you will visit Machu Picchu. You will be visiting the famous Sacred City of the Incas, you will determine, with your tour guide, the best time to start your day. After a 25-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu and going into the Citadel of Machu Picchu, we will to the gate of the famous Huayna Picchu Mountain to start the climbing where we will enjoy the view. Then we will have our guided tour of the most important places of the Machu Picchu Incan City. After the tour your will have free time in Machu Picchu for some more photos and then we will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes where we can find a place to eat (not include a lunch). In the afternoon, we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo and the transfer back to your hotel in Cusco.
