Overview and Highlights
San Pedro ceremonies take place during the day and work as a communion between yourself, nature and the universe on a whole. The purpose is to be able to see the interconnectivity of life and to in this way we can appreciate everything around us.
The San Pedro (Trichocereus pachano) is a vertical cactus that can reach a gigantic size. It grows in Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador and Peru. In the two last countries, it is used in Shamanic rituals and is the third cactus with the greatest concentration of mescaline after the peyote and the antorcha peruana (Trichocereus Peruvianus) which is harder to find. It is considered as Sacred Medicine and helps in the expansion of individual consciousness, as well as in spiritual growth. Nowadays it is known as a plant used to cure all the affections of the human being as it was initially considered; it was in essence a medicinal plant and very respected by our ancestors.
Wachuma or San Pedro has a sacred and medicinal use: “It connects us directly with oneself and then heals us and opens our consciousness for self-learning”.
