WHAT TO BRING AND ADVICES:
- It is really advisable and important that you arrive to Cusco at least 2 days prior the trek,
in order to acclimatize to the altitude. - Just in case, you can take personal medication for altitude sickness, you will find locally
some drugstores at the main street Av El Sol or near to the main square of Cusco. - Please make sure to inform us about your health/food/physical restrictions in advance
so we can prepare them for you. - In case you need to pay the remaining balance, it is advisable to take some cash. You
can get some money from the ATM machines that are located in the center of the City
of Cusco. - Be always ready for rain and cold, take some rain poncho water proof clothes and warm
clothes. Proper hiking boots. - Insect repellent, some mosquitos are really annoyed specially at lower altitude,
- Original Passport is very important to enter to Machupicchu
- Extra money (Cash) is advisable just in case to buy souvenirs or in case of emergency.

Itinerary
The tour starts around 07:00 am with the pickup and transportation of the guests in direction to the passage, Abra Málaga (14160 ft/4316 m asl) This is where we will begin the descent by bicycle. After approximately 3 hours / 52km of descending across beautiful views and fruit fields, we arrive at the town of Huamanmarka, at this point we are going to take the bus to Santa Maria (30 minutes). Here we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we have the opportunity to do the rafting activity for about 2 hours in one of the best stretches of the Vilcanota River. This is incredibly enjoyable; however, we only offer it during the dry season in Cusco (April-December). In the evening, we stay at a comfortable ecolodge where you have commodities and can enjoy a beautiful view of Cusco Region’s spectacular high jungle.

Waking up around 6:00 am, after breakfast we will start the trek; the first section is a car road approximately one hour after that we are going to take a beautiful section of the original Inca Trail. This part of the tour is not to be missed as we will be able to appreciate the old Inca trail. well preserved and still used by local people. During this trek we will cross fruit plantations typical of the area. We will also be able to witness the diverse flora and fauna of the high jungle: different species of birds, orchids, bananas, oranges, avocados, coffee, etc. We will be in the “jungle eyebrow” of the Amazon, one of the richest and biologically diverse areas on the planet, our lunch is going to be in Q’ellomayu in a local restaurant. In the afternoon we arrive at the thermal baths of Cocalmayo, where we are going to enjoy hours in this famous resort of medicinal thermal waters. After this relaxing therapy we are transported to our lodging, located in the town of Santa Teresa

We are going to get up at 08am and after a delicious breakfast we are going to take zip line tour that is one of the most exhilarating experiences on this tour. After having enjoyed the scenery and a brief rest we will take the bus during 30 minutes to a point called “Hidroeléctrica”, where we have lunch and then continue the trek for approximately 2.5 hours along the railway to the town of Machupicchu Pueblo. This is where we will stay, in comfortable local lodging at the foot of the marvel. That night we will meet in a restaurant where we will have dinner and plan the next day’s visit to the archaeological wonder Machupicchu.

Today is the highlight of any trip to South America – Machu Picchu! This world-famous site is easily the most remarkable pre-Colombian city in the world, partially because of its mystical beauty at its lofty place among the Andean cloud forest. A guided tour will help you discover and understand what Machupicchu tells us about the life and customs of the Incan people. Surrounded by dramatic terraces cut into the mountainsides, your guide will give you a thorough history of the ruins and the Incas as well as share with you the possible explanations for the purpose of Machupicchu. You have the optional opportunity to take the challenging, unguided hike to the top of Huaynapicchu (This portion required another entrance this additional need to be booked in advance 03 months or more in advance), where you will have the best view of the site. This hike is highly recommended for people who are in the right physical condition, as it truly gives unparalleled views of Machupicchu. After a long day of exploring this lost city, you will walk to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Ollantaytambo train station Where We will be waiting for You in a proper tourist transportation to take You back to Cusco. Upon arrival to Cusco, you will be brought back to your hotel for a good night’s rest. That is the end of our Inka Jungle Program.
